◆◆ Balochistan is the biggest
province of Pakistan by virtue of area as well as the natural resources.
Strategic location of Balochistan has added more to the importance of the
province. The province has remained center of international conspiracies since
cold war era when former USSR sowed the seeds of sub nationalism. However with
the demise of USSR, the game has been taken over by a host of new actors.
Arrival of extra regional forces in Afghanistan has further aggravated the
situation and at present the province can be rightly declared the hub of conspiracies
against the state of Pakistan.
Many people living out of
Pakistan will doubt the statement of Prime Minister Abbasi which he gave while
inaugurating 300 KM long Kachhi canal in Balochistan which will bring 72000
acres of barren Dera Bugti land under irrigation. PM Abbasi declared that soon
Balochistan will become most prosperous province of Pakistan. PM also announced
provision of natural gas to each District Headquarters of Balochistan,
establishment of 29 Universities in the province, development of new road and
transport network and more water projects for irrigation, with an overall cost of
over 600 Billion. These projects to reenergize the development of the province
are being done with the aim of addressing the genuine complaints and grievances
of the people of Balochistan. The province remained neglected for a long period
unless a new realization crept in to address the concerns over last two
decades.
Depravation of Balochistan
can be traced back to British era commencing from 1839. Sandeman system enhanced
powers of Sardars by introducing a new Royal Jirga and by undermining
traditional Jirga system thus deepening class divisions and deprivation.
Traditional Jirga was based on communal court delivering participatory justice.
In the new Royal Jirga only Sardars and aristocrats could sit, giving Sardars unlimited
powers over lives and belongings of the masses, showing a total disregard for
Welfare of the people. After a brief period of independence, Balochstan
voluntarily joined Pakistan on 25 March 1948. Almost all the chief Ministers
ruling the province since then have been Baloch Sardars, who unfortunately did
not pay attention to the welfare of people and at times blocked its way. An
insurgency is being waged by few of the mislead broods of Sardars who
personally sit out either in British or in rest of the Europe. They enjoy the
leisure of life but have kept the province restless over a decade and a half.
However, people of
Balochistan are wise enough to realize great economic and development
opportunities knocking their doors. Overwhelmingly positive response to the
CPEC by residents of Balochistan has disappointed these mislead and misguided
remains of exploitative leadership. Their ground fighters are fast leaving
their ranks through joining hands with the rest of patriot Baloch. There is a
growing sense of awareness among the fighters about the leadership and its
cause. Leaders themselves sit abroad and make few common Baloch to fight
against state apparatus. Common people as well as the fighters question how a
leader sitting across seven seas understand local difficulties. Even the
foreign masters of these puppet leaders are weary of them and have started
exploring mid and lower tier options.
Foreign hands supporting
restlessness in Balochistan have adopted two options to replace Sardar led insurgency.
Firstly, they have started contacting and using second tier leadership to
further their cause of harming Pakistan. Recent visit of Kandahar based Ferrari
leader Aslann Baloch to India and contacts with spy agency RAW are an episode
in example. This has caused concerns in self-exiled Baloch Sardars. There are
growing news rifts between different factions and tiers of insurgents.
Secondly, they use media persons and social activists like Tarek Fateh, Naila
Qadri, Mazdak Dilshad Baloch, Banuk Kareema, Hamal Haider, Ahmer Masti, Afghan
origin Baloch being used by foreign hands have sent serious negative Shockwaves
for the Baloch. Social activists keep moving from Canada to India to US and UK
Canada, US and UK. Apart from the fake pro Baloch campaigns these activists are
also active for secularism as well as for LGBT rights. Baloch cause by gay and
lesbian rights protesters from India needs to be viewed in the light of PM
Narendra Modi’s speech of 15 August 2017, when he threatened to interfere in
Balochistan affairs. Kulbhushan Yadev’s statement and related Indian involvement
also figures out in a same context. Baloch people have also expressed anger
over Champagne party pictures of Brahamdagh Bugti as anti-Baloch cultural
gesture especially under prevailing environment. Baloch are sensitive to the
culture and known for the honor and truth.
This anti Baloch culture is
self-explained by the support these so called activists and the leadership are
getting from India. Time and again these elements have declared their fight as
indigenous, a fact proved false every time. Indian RAW’s support to Aslam
Baloch led Faction, patronage of so called social activists, activities of Kulbhushan
Yadev and protection provided to the leadership irritate Baloch people. Afghan
NDS and other extra regional agencies present in Afghanistan also support these
insurgents, mostly based in Abdul Razzik Achakzai governed Kandahar province.
Support being extended to Baloch separatists by UK and US is also evident by
the role being played by some senators and agency operators. US Senator Dana
Rohrabacher (California) Congressmen Louie Gohmert (Texas) and Steve King
(lowa) openly support Balochistan’s independence, thus exposing duplicity some
US leaders carry towards Pakistan. Senator Rohrabacher has recently met infamous
MQM leader Altaf Hussain along with Khan of Qalat Mir Suleman Dawood in London.
Such meetings raise doubts about the character of both US and UK in supporting
Baloch led Insurgency vis-a-vis their partnership with Pakistan.
In the latest happening Balochistan liberation
Army supported Balochistan House is involved in running an advertisement
campaign in favor of Free Balochistan. Ambassado Farukh Amil Permanent
Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations (UN), has reached out to Swiss
authorities to take action against activities by banned organization. Ambassador
declared these activities totally against. He also warned, “The use of Swiss
soil by terrorists and violent secessionists for nefarious designs against Pakistan
and its 200 million people is totally unacceptable, " ,demanding that “the
incident is fully investigated with a view to blocking its recurrence in the
future.”
